In the formula, Jin Yin Hua (Honeysuckle flower) and Lian Qiao (Forsythia fruit) are a famous pair of Chinese herbs that act together to relieve the exterior of the body, clear heat, and remove toxic substances; Huang Qin (Scutellaria) is a key Chinese herb for clearing heat and draining fire. It works the best when the heat is in the upper respiratory tract and the fire is in the lung. These three Chinese herbs themselves constitute a formula in the name of Shuang Huang Lian.

Ban Lan Gen (Isatidis root) and Da Qing Ye (Isatidis leaf) are two other well known Chinese herbs for their detoxifying and heat-draining properties. Their addition to Physiclear™ further enhances the formula's action to remove toxins.

Also included in Physiclear™ are Jie Geng (Platycodon root), a Chinese herb that ventilates the lung and clears phlegm, and Qiang Huo (Notopterygium), which releases the exterior, disperses Cold, and dispel Wind.
