1. Ginkgo good for my dad's Dizziness
from sheldonl63@aol.com, 4/05/03
I learned the word ginkgo about a year ago when my dad heard it from his friends. At age 67, my dad
has had a mild problem which he refers himself as "low blood pressure". The problem is that
when he was standing up from squat or going upstairs he often felt dizzy and sometimes fell
down. He thought he did not get enough blood and thus oxygen supply due to "low blood
pressure". His search for drugs that raise the "blood pressure" was not successful (anyway,
who else wants to have higher blood pressure.) Then, someday he met someone telling him ginkgo is good
at improving circulation and oxygen supply to the brain.
I took the word and did some research. Indeed, there are studies supporting the claim.
I bought stardardized ginkgo extract for him. He has kept taking it since then. He did see
his dizziness gets much better. Noticeably, he once stopped taking it for two weeks
because the supply run out and I forgot to buy more, he felt his dizziness again in that 2
weeks.
2. Ginkgo improved my microcirculation
from Jack, San Diego, 6/01/03
My wife and I started to take ginkgo leaf extract about 6 years ago. At the time
we were both around 60 years old and went to have regular medical checkups. Our doctor
said our microcirculation was a concern and might cause problems to the brain and heart. He
suggested us to try ginkgo to improve microcirculation as a preventive measure. We have since
then taken ginkgo tablets for about 6 years with daily dose of 120 to 240 mg. Microcirculation
has been noticeably improved for both of us as the doctor can simply measure it on a
finger tip with a device. We experienced no side-effect and plan to continue to use it.
3. Ginkgo helped my memory
from Tony, Birmingham, 6/25/03
When I first started managing one of the best fine dining restaurants
in town, I was expected to remember every customer's name. Try as I
did, I could not remember Dick from Jane, so I decided I would try an
herbal supplement to aid me in my memory process. About 3 to 4 weeks after
I started a regular Ginko regimin, I began to notice a difference. My
memory began to function more clearly. Not only did I remember more
names, but the cognative association process associated with memory
function became prevalent. I began to even remember street names, characters
in movies, and prices; all things that I struggled with or dismissed in
the past. I am convinced that Ginko helped me hone my memory, and now
I can still remember to take it.
4. My father's experience with ginkgo
from My4444sons@aol.com, 7/21/03
My father took ginkgo biloba in 120mg capsules for about one year. I would like
to know if anyone else has experienced the same things as my father. My Dad has
always had an inventive mind and experimented with inventions. After beginning
the ginkgo, he had a distinctive personality change. He started thinking about
things constantly. He could not sleep for staying up and writing information
about inventions on paper or calling to tell someone about these visions of new
inventions. He was a very quiet personality before the ginkgo and then became
very aggressive with people in conversations. After over one year of this type
behavior, he started to have some nose bleeds and attributed it to the ginkgo
biloba which he then decided to quit taking. Not long afterwards, his mind
seemed to shut down as fast as it had speeded up when he first started the
gingko.
5. Ginko for my Sjogrens disease
from Madeline (msrnlaw2@aol.com), 8/14/03
I am a 49 female. I have had Sjogrens disease for approx. 15 yrs (an autoimmune
disease). Normally in females over the age of fifty. At the time I was
diagnosed I was in my early 30's. I would get sick all the time, in the Dr's office
at least once a month. I would get water around my eardrums, causing really bad
pain, and my glands would swell. My sister told me I should try this Ginko
Booster, I did. This was the best thing I could have tried. I have been taking
it for approx. 5 yrs now, and I can report to the world that, (knock on wood) I
have not been to Dr's in over 1 1/2 yrs. I do communicate with Dr. and
occasionally have blood work done. I don't feel I would be as healthy as I am
without my Ginko. Ginko also gave me more energy !!!
