Suggested Dose and Duration of Ginkgo Biloba
reviewed by X. Li, Ph. D.
(credential)
As we discussed in ginkgo applications under studies,
extensive clinical trials have been conducted to evaluate the ginkgo health benefits.
In these trials where the positive effects of ginkgo were observed on
improving Alzheimer's disease dementia, on improving
Age-Associated Memory Impairment, on
enhancing memory in health elderly adults, on
improving intermittent claudication, and on
improving tinnitus, people took standardized ginkgo bilba extract
at doses of 120 mg to 240 mg daily for up to one year.
The optimal dose for ginkgo biloba extract is not well studied. Most studies used single dose.
However, there is some evidence suggesting that the higher dose at 240 mg per day showed more
benefits than the lower dose at 120 mg per day. In fact, trials on Alzheimer's disease dementia
more often used 240 mg ginkgo biloba extract daily.
Ginkgo biloba extract was taken orally in the form of either tablets or capsules. In most trials,
tablets were prefered as it showed a better absorption of ginkgo biloba active ingredients.
The daily dose can be taken once or divided to twice or three times before meals. In most trials,
the daily dose was divided to three times.

high quality yet affordable product to market. I have taken
Gingko Biloba made by others, and after taking yours, I honestly
wonder if there was any active ingredient in them all! With your product, I have
actually seen and felt a difference! Keep up the good work!"
